Izmir Bird Paradise is the result of the Gediz River depositing its silt where it meets the Aegean over thousands of years. Incredible numbers of birds, fish and other species depend on this paradise to live and breed. The Gediz Delta is one of Turkey's and the world's most striking natural areas. The delta stretches from Bostanli shores to the Foca hills. Approximately 250 bird, 314 plant, many mammal, fish and reptile species take refuge in the delta.
In the previous years lack of rain and water caused draught in the area. An urgent intervention was necessary to save the birds.
Greenactive PR was deemed worth of International Public Relations Association (IPRA)’s Golden World Award and United Nations Award.
Since the ecological balance is maintained and the necessary conditions are established İzmir Bird Paradise will remain a place for a variety of birds to live and to breed.
