Novartis Health Wagon aimed to increase the quality of life for patients and patient relatives and based of this objective, educational meetings were held in different regions. Wagon departed from Ankara in November 14, 2005. Wagon stayed one week in each city and organized public educational meetings about hypertension, diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, cancer, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer and osteoporosis.
Metabolic Syndrome Association (METSEND) also carried out “Turkey Cardio-Metabolic Risk Factors Study” including 1317 people from 14 cities inside the wagon. This study is unique in searching the insulin resistance that causes metabolic syndrome.
